Thanks Kareena,

I think Alexei's fashion sense is much better than what was presented on the catwalk..bows in hair on grown women not my thing.  Even though he mostly wears casual stuff, he is always well turned out in good quality...and he wears nice shoes.  I think a man's shoes say a lot about him!

It did make me laugh that Alexei got one of the first mentions in the article, even though it was Fabrika strutting their stuff and the designer had probably spent a good 6 months on the collection.  Alexei shows up, sits down and takes pole position in the article!!LOL!!

Thanks, Karenna :).

I was rather pleased, too, Sharon, that he was mentioned right at the beginning of the article lol.  Laughing

Also, I have been keeping up with the tour reviews on the AYDG, and in the latest photos of Alexei, the bandage is no longer visible, while it is indicated that he is doing his jumps again, so my anxiety level about his recovery has gone way down.  Laughing

......fingers crossed that my computer will work properly after another repair.........Without a doubt Sasha Savelyeva is a very beautiful girl but I agree with you sharon.....I'm not a "bows in the hair" kind of lady either.  I am fascinated by the fashion industry in Russia though and the devotion many Russian  have to this part of their lives.  I have witnessed this attitude in my own family - my mother and grandmother would always attempt to dress the best they could in whatever circumstance.  It becomes an engrained way of thinking - I would never dream of being out in public without makeup on for example - my hair might get messy from the wind but the face is intact!

..no more bandages!  That is the best news Lina!

It's good to have a pride in one's appearance I think.  ITA about make-up and going out, though, as I've gotten older, I've become less concerned about popping out for some milk, without 'the slap' on!!

By the way, I was watching QVC the other day and they had a gold showcase on.  I do love gold (don't see the point in white gold though - get silver, its cheaper!).  Love my yellow gold but also partial to rose gold.  The presenters were talking about what colour and style of gold different nationalalities prefer e.g. Indian people prefer high carat yellow gold, Germans & Scandanavians like clean, linear designs etc.  They said rose gold was very popular in Russia.  I knew Russian's liked their gold but hadn't heard this one.  Is that right?  Thought I'd ask here, this being a bit of a fashion-related posting.

ps - hope the computer is OK.  I was at the point of throwing mine out of the window just before Christmas.  Luckily Santa bought me a new one.

Actually rose gold is a popular choice for many Russians.  I have seen many "traditional" wedding bands that feature an intertwining  of white, yellow and rose colored gold which represent the Holy Trinity.  This type of wedding band holds much significance and it is high on my list of choices - if I decide to marry someday. Lately when I say the word "ring" it's more likely to involve this kind.....!

Hmm.  My wedding band is the tri color...yellow, white, rose.  I've been married 93 years, so I've had it a good while now, but that's what it is.  Laughing
