AngryDara has posted 3 segments of the show "Love, Pain and Ice" which covers much of Alexei's career including the hip surgery  shortly after the Olympics and the most recent  titanium hip replacement surgery. There are  interviews with Alexei, Tatyana Anatolvena and Alexei's Mom....

Oh Kareena, I've just watched these.  WONDERFUL if a little sad and painful to watch.
I wish I knew what he, his mom and Tatiana were saying.  The bit after he had pulled out of the competition where it cut to Tatiana, I thought she was going to cry, she seemed so sad.

Oh I say...PANTS!!!!  here's hoping for a screen capture of those shots!!LOL!!

..and the bit in the apartment when he showed the small scar after the first op he had.  Was he 'going comando' (sorry, when he starts flashing like that I can't help myself).

I think perhaps the Appendix scars will look like that - small incisions.

There seemed to be a fair bit of filler from previous interviews but perhaps the commentary put the pictures in a different context.

The hospital pics were sweet, even through he must have been in a fair bit of pain, he managed to keep his spirits up.

Probably the most revealing picture I have ever seen of Alexei during the live X-ray of his hip, has already been screen captured and posted.  I hasten to paste it here for fear of ladies fainting or those who don't like nudity being offended (he does have a small pair of briefs on).

Thanks to my new fast connection, I have now seen these videos.  It was like a trip down memory lane for me, and a whole lot more. 

I think my favorite part is seeing him  relaxing with Sasha Savelyeva. Smile 

I love those black and white close-up face shots they used for punctuation. 

Alexei has been through so much, and accomplished so much in spite of it.  I hope he never stops.  He is inspiring the children now Laughing.
