The question in my mind is could Alexie really be able to compete in this. He's got commitments for Ice Age for this autumn, plus the Ice Age Tour which follows after that. From what I understand, about the way this new competition will work, it stretches out over multiple days, back to back, with several different types of programs to be performed by each skater. That's a considerable block of time.
Alexei is one of those people who takes great pains to honor his commitments and, that being the case, I don't quite see how he would be able to be part of this NA competition. Also, would Ilia Averbuch agree to let Alexei take the time off to come to the US to do the competition? While I would love to see him participate in this, I don't quite understand how it would be possible for him to do it.
