Now, that I finally have a block of time for some research, I thought it would be a good idea to explore some of the cities  in which  the Ice Age Tour performed. I'm tackling this in no particular order but it should be noted that quite a few of the cities have no online information in English  about them, and my abilitiy to translate Cyrillic is absymal, LOL. So.....

Starting off with Irkutsk.

In the information at the above  site it was mentioned that the nearby the city a taiga. I kinda know what that is but I did a bit more research and found this:

The photos are spectactular, to say the least. Here's an example of the type of forests in that region:

Nearby is Lake Baikal, the deepest freshwater lake in the world; it holds 20 percent of the world's fresh water.
