I had to go back and search for the posts I remembered seeing, and I found them. One was at the AYDG and the other was at a link from the AYDG to another skating site. This is about Alexei's situation and Yevgeny's plans for future competition. An AYDG translation from the Ice Age site says that Yevgeny was invited to be in next season's Ice Age tour, but he declined so that he can prepare to compete in the coming Winter Olympics. That site says that they asked Alexei in Mannheim about his plans for future competition. "He answered that he first needs to get back his triple jumps. He skated a long time with his bad hip and as a result strained other parts of his body, like his knee and now he has to recover completely before going back to train the harder jumps.
